Olympus DS-5000 and Olympus DS-4000 Upgrades
The Olympus DS-5000 and DS-4000 recorders are no longer supported by the manufacturer. What does that mean for me? Well if you use an Olympus DS-5000 or DS-4000, it means that there are no more updates or patches for your recorder. There are no more repairs possible, because we no longer have any spare parts from Olympus. And probably the most daunting news, your DS-5000 and DS-4000 is no longer guaranteed to be compatible with any future software or operating systems.
As offices are migrating to Windows 10 environments, the DSS Player software that came with your DS-5000 or DS-4000 will not be compatible. Despite Windows 10’s backwards compatibility, your DSS Player software was not designed to operate on that OS. You will experience frustrating glitches and bugs that cannot be corrected. Lucky for you, there is a solution.
The new Olympus DS-7000 and Olympus DS-3500 Digital Dictation recorders are the next generation of dictation devices from Olympus. Featuring color screens, amazing recording quality, long battery life, and too many great features to list; the DS-7000 or DS-3500 make great upgrades to your dictation workflow. Couple the recorder with Olympus Dictation Management System (ODMS) software, and you will have a top of the line digital dictation system that runs flawlessly on Windows 10.
